A city, rich in history in a landscape, to discover. The journey into beauty begins with the Basin of the Padule of Fucecchio, the largest inland freshwater marsh in peninsular Italy. In this protected area, which you can visit for educational and tourist purposes, there are more than 200 species of birds. Its formation is ancient, of course, due to the stagnation of the waters coming from the streams of Valdinievole, whose runoff was prevented by the flood deposits of the Arno. The Usciana Canal is its only emissary and along its route there is a breathtaking route to walk or mountain bike.

The young and old can discover the unpredictable and extraordinary world of nature by walking through the forests of Cerbaie, low hills with a soft profile that extend for two-thirds of the municipal territory, between the basin of the marshes of the Bientina and those of Fucecchio. Nestled in rich vegetation, and surrounded by wildlife, typical of forests and Tuscan spots, there are paths that are allowed to be explored for several kilometres. The Cerbaies are also home to nature initiatives and environmental education workshops.
